Fuel Stamp Scheme in association with Derry & Strabane district councils
Retailers across the district are being urged to participate.
Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District, Councillor Elisha McCallion, urged people to sign up for the scheme.
“This is a fantastic initiative which aims to provide best value for local people. It’s a simple and sensible way to save money which has already been proving successful in Strabane, so I would really encourage more local groups and organisations, as well as the general public, to sign up for the scheme. It really can make a difference.’

Helping people to budget towards their oil heating costs.
The template employed elsewhere enables people to buy £5 stamps from participating retail outlets and place these on a card to build up credit. The stamps are then accepted by participating oil companies towards the cost of the fuel bill. Hopefully this scheme will be embraced by the community as another way to save money.
